The other day a Berliner, very in the know with what’s good and cool (timeless clothing, dog that fits in small bag, a whole lot to say about Karl Ove Knausgaard), gushed at me about the Venice General store and seeing Bathing Culture mind and body wash there. This cool hunter had recently taken a swung down there (Vince LA) to see what the plebes are coveting. It’s that type of place… arguably the top boutique in the world, and yes, they have Bathing Culture.
Some of our favorite General Store employees at the SF store
The Venice General Store is celebrity sister to the also amazing and successful SF general store and one of my favorite places to find amazing things to boot. Just about everything in the store is made by an artist and there’s Bathing Culture there too! You should go. It’s also walking distance to Gjusta which is one of my favorite places to get lunch (the side of a Mt is also a great place for lunch).
Yes to lunch! This photo is from Bon Appetit

This store is curated to perfection. It is a collection of vintage clothing, home accessories, candles, Navajo style jewelry and bowls, coffee table books, personal care items and just fun odds and ends. The store is a true "general store" with a little bit for everyone.
When I imagine a beautiful girl who is wildly cool, I imagine her owning a store just like this. This store really does have a little bit of everything and just the right amount of it all. It is great store, well curated with perfect pieces and good prices. I really hope they are around for years.

The General Store has a great selection, from home goods to fashion and accessories. Their products are quite unique and the store is well merchandised and has a great atmosphere.
Would definitely recommend to a friend to stop in!
Are you in LA?! That means there’s a twenty percent chance you’re in your car and you should just crank up the radio and nudge on over to the 405 or the 10 and find yourself in the General Store!
